In 1990, Charles “Charlie” Ekstam began research to solve a problem that has plagued diesel engines since  Rudolf Diesel, a German genius, who invented the diesel engine.

Air and vapor  enter the diesel fuel, during driving, which causes cavitation. The result of the entrained air, causes increased fuel consumption, lower power output, increased exhaust emissions, and possible premature failure of the fuel injectors.

By 1993, Charlie became the first person in the world to solve the problem of air in the diesel fuel. Rudolf Diesel received his patent on February 23, 1893, and one century later Charlie received his patent to increase the efficiency of the diesel engine. With the development of the world’s first fuel air separation system, it has been trademarked as the Fuel Preporator® Fuel Air System. Today PureFlow manufactures in the United States and in 2024 we will be manufacturing in Germany and in the Philippines.
